Frequently Asked Questions

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future". Jeremiah 29.11

We believe that all scripture is given by inspiration of God, it is the incorruptible Word of God that is living and powerful and pure throughout eternity. II Timothy 3.16, I Peter 1.23, Heb 4.12, Psalm 12.6

We believe the triune God is comprised of three distinct personalities. The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. Matthew 4.16-17, II Corinthians 13.14

We believe in the Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ and that He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died for our sins on the cross, rose from the dead and is seated on the right hand of God, and will personally return in power and glory. Matthew 16.16, Luke 1.27-35, I Peter 2.22, Acts 2.22, I Corinthians 15.3, Matthew 28.6-7, Hebrews 1.3, I Thessalonians 4.16-18

We believe man was created in the image and likeness of God but through voluntary rebellion and disobedience brought a consciousness of sin, of condemnation and of separation from God upon all mankind.Genesis 1.26, 3.1-7

We believe mans only redemption is through the precious blood of The Lamb, The Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 3.24-25, I Peter 1.18-20, Revelations 5.8-9

We believe the gift of salvation is through faith in Jesus Christ, not by righteous deeds, and that our works will be judged and rewards granted at the Judgment Seat of Christ. Ephesians 2.8-9, Acts 4.12, Romans 10.9-10, I Corinthians 3.13-15, II Corinthians 5.10

We believe the ordinances of Water Baptism and Holy Communion are to be obeyed by believers. Matthew 28.19, Mark 16.16, Acts 10.47-48, Romans 6.4, I Corinthians 11.23-26

We believe the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is available to all believers and is distinct from and subsequent to being Born Again. Luke 24. 49, Acts 2.38, Acts 19.2-6

We believe in the personal baptism with the Holy Spirit as received by believers "at the beginning" and that He empowers believers to be effective witnesses for the Lord Jesus Christ. Acts 1.8, 2.1-4, 10.46

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling believers are empowered to live a victorious godly life. Acts 1.8, II Corinthians 1.21-22, Romans 8.9-15, 15.18-19, Ephesians 3.14-19, 5.18-20, Luke 24.49

We believe in the present day workings and manifestations of the Holy Spirit through the distinctive distribution of His gifts. The Holy Spirit gives spiritual gifts to all believers; however, the manifestation of any particular gift is not required as evidence of salvation. I Corinthians 12.4-11, 27-31, 14.1-40, Romans 12.6-8, Ephesians 5.18

We believe that divine healing is included in the Redemption of Christ. Psalm 103.2-3, 107.20, Proverbs 4.20-22, Exodus 15.25-26, Isaiah 53.3-5, I Peter 2.24, Mark 16.17-18

We believe the Church is the Body of Christ consisting of local assembly's of believers as well as the redeemed of all the ages who have followed Jesus as Savior and Lord. The Church is a corporate body in which believers may worship God and is commissioned by the Lord to make disciples of all the nations and to be a channel through which Gods purpose and will is carried out in the earth. Ephesians 1.22-23, I Corinthians 12.27, Hebrews 12.23, I Corinthians 14.24-26, Matthew 28.18-20, Romans 12.1-2

We believe the Five-Fold Ministry gifts are given throughout Church history by God for the full equipping of the saints to do divinely directed works of service and to build up the Church. Ephesians 4.7-16

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost - of they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and of they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. John 5.28-29, I Corinthians 15.20-23, Revelation 20.11-15

We believe in the sanctity of human life from the moment of conception to the time of death. All human life is precious in the sight of God. Luke 1.15, Galatians 1.15, Psalm 22.10, 71.6, 72.14, 139.13-14, Mark 8.36, Isaiah 43.4

We believe that marriage and family are institutions ordained by the Lord God Himself from the very beginning of human history and these are sacred institutions. Marriage is between one man and one woman. Any other definition of marriage is contrary to the clear teachings of the Holy Bible and hence against the expressed will of God. Genesis 1.27-28, 2.20b-24, I Corinthians 7.2, Hebrews 13.4

We believe that unity regarding the foundational doctrines clearly taught in the Holy Bible is absolutely essential. At the same time we also affirm that we must accept one another in the love of Jesus recognizing that there are different styles and expressions of worship. All the members of the Body do not look alike. Together, we are the Body of Christ, called to build the Kingdom in harmony and agape love. John 17.11, Romans 12.1-13, 14.1-23, I Corinthians 12.4-6, 27-28, Ephesians 4.1-6

What Are Your Core Values?

We Value The Scriptures

We value the Bible as God's inspired, authoritative and accurate Word. We will continually strive to teach and preach God's Word with integrity and authority so that all will find Christ and develop into spiritually mature believers. We believe the Bible is God's Word to our world. Therefore, we must live and practice the life changing principles we discover. We value the application of scripture in every area of our lives. 2 Timothy 3.16

We Value Worshiping God

We value authentic worship that is acceptable to God. (Romans 12.1-2) We desire to worship God in spirit and in truth. (John 4.24) We strive to use the creative art ministries of music, art, drama and dance to worship our Creator God with all our heart, soul, strength and mind. (Psalm 150)

We Value Being Spirit Led

We value the work, ministry and moving of the Holy Spirit in our individual lives and in our corporate gatherings. We desire to live our lives filled with His power, led by His voice, bearing His fruits and flowing with His gifts. We covet earnestly the spiritual gifts He bestows and believe that all things can be done decently and in order in our homes, the marketplace and in our worship services. (Acts 2.4, Romans 8.14, I Corinthians 12.1-11, 14.1-40)

We Value Making Disciples

We value strong foundational Bible teaching for each age group so that we all may learn and follow His ways. We desire to know the truth, live our lives accordingly and thereby experience true freedom. We value people. We believe people matter to God and therefore they matter to us. (John 8.31-32)

We Value Leadership Development

We value the entire congregations involvement in ministry. We seek to help each person recognize their individual gifting and to equip each person to be able to fulfill their God given area of service in His Kingdom. Every member is a minister. (Ephesians 4.11-13, Romans 12.4-8)

We Value Evangelism

We value the lost and unsaved of our generation and the generations to come because Christ died for each and every one of them. We will consistently use every Christ-honoring means to reach out to, witness, win and disciple people from every walk of life. (Luke 4.18-19, 2 Corinthians 5.14-21)

We Value Missions

We value and will consistently strive to obey the Lord's command to "go and disciple all nations". (Mathew 28.19-20) Jesus said He would "build His Church" and "we are laborers together with God" therefore we place a high emphasis on short term missions trips, sending full time missionaries on the field and new church planting projects locally and internationally. (Matthew 16.18, I Corinthians 3.9)

We Value Authentic Community

We value biblical community wherein people have opportunity to minister to others and develop Christ centered relationships. We strongly encourage everyone to participate in small groups where they may exercise their gifts and experience "koinonia" fellowship. (Acts 2.44-47)

Who Are Greg & Lori Accountable To?

Grace International

An International Fellowship
For Pastors
And Church Leaders

Greg, Lori and Pastor Larry Ihrig. Larry is the Vice President of Grace International and Director of Church Planting.

Beginning with one church in 1934 pastored by a visionary leader who would send hundreds of men and women into the ministry, Grace International is now in more than forty nations.

Schools, orphanages, feeding centers, Bible colleges, training centers, a world class seminary and more than 1400 churches with thousands of ministers now make up Grace International.

The international headquarters is located in Houston, Texas on the campus of Grace Community Church, a multi-site mega church. Grace is one of the largest worship centers in the country with a capacity of 10,000 under the Pastoral care of Steve Riggle.

The Oaks Fellowship
 Dallas, Texas

The Oaks Fellowship is a growing congregation of 2400 people with four campus locations in Dallas, Texas which includes three Charter schools. The Oaks has a vision for twelve locations in the Dallas area and is lead by Pastor Steve Wilson.

On November 18, 2007 The Pastors of The Oaks Fellowship had Greg share his vision for the new church plant in Flagstaff and they "sent them out" according to scriptural mandates. (Acts 13.1-4)

High Point Church will always be in relationship with our spiritual "fathers in the faith" and will have Pastors from The Oaks come visit often to preach, teach and impart vision.

All of our records and financial statements are open for review by both the ministries listed above.

Greg and Lori met in church in 1984 and were married six months later. Even before marriage God spoke to Greg that they were called to "an evangelistic ministry and would travel all over the United States, Canada and Mexico".

God has given Greg and Lori the ability to remain faithful to God through the tremendous trials they have faced together over the years.

In September 2005 the Lord started speaking to Greg about Flagstaff Arizona. We took our first trip to Flagstaff in October of 2005 and then simply spent Nov & Dec praying, "God what are you wanting us to do in Flagstaff"? While praying in Nov & Dec and during our second trip there, the last week of Dec 2005, God made it crystal clear to us that He was calling us to start a brand new church in this city . After counseling with our Pastor in Jan 2006, we attended a weeklong "Church Planting Boot Camp" in March 2006. In 2006 Lori and I spent countless hours reading, studying, researching and preparing for this new work God was calling us to. Praying over, and committing to writing, the endless details and plans concerning the vision, our core values, the focus groups we will be reaching, the style of worship service, advertising plans, various budgets, monthly timelines, gathering a Prayer Team, Advisory & Accountability Board and producing a fundraising video was all part of the preparation in 2006. In August 2006 Lori and I went to Flagstaff for our third visit. We met with four key leaders in the city and afterwards were convinced even more that God was indeed leading us to plant a new church in Flagstaff. In May 2007 we attended the Grace International "Church Planting Intensive" and received even more training. We completed a 65 page Ministry Plan and received approval from the Grace International Church Planting Leadership Team to start this new church. In Sept 2007 some significant changes occurred at Greg's work which prompted him to do some internet searches for jobs in Flagstaff. In Oct 2007 during our 4th trip to Flagstaff we secured employment and a rent house to call home. We love this city and are looking forward to what God has planned for our lives and High Point Church.
